This app is not an official warning service

Weather by PreteWorks shows weather information for situational awareness only. Official watches and warnings are issued by the National Weather Service (NWS). The app displays those warnings, but it does not issue them, and it may show them late, show them incompletely, or fail to show them at all.

For life-safety decisions, always rely on official NWS warnings, Wireless Emergency Alerts on your phone, NOAA Weather Radio, outdoor sirens, local broadcast media, and local emergency officials. If a warning is issued for your location, act on it right away. Don't wait for the app to confirm it.

Don't rely on one source

No single app, radio, or siren is guaranteed to reach you. Keep more than one way to receive warnings, especially overnight and when severe weather is expected.

Radar and storm information can be wrong or missing

Radar images, storm tracks, arrival times, rotation and hail estimates, lightning counts, model probabilities, and the "Next 60 minutes" outlook are automated estimates. They can be inaccurate, delayed, or unavailable. Radar can't see everything: coverage has gaps, the beam passes over low-level features far from the radar, and radars and data feeds sometimes go offline. A storm the app shows as weak, or doesn't show at all, can still be dangerous.

Notifications are not guaranteed

Alerts from the app depend on your phone, its settings (including Focus, Do Not Disturb, and notification permissions), your network connection, Apple's push notification service, and our servers. Any of these can delay or prevent a notification.

Forecasts and other data

Forecasts in the app are computed from NWS forecast grids and are not official NWS forecasts. Aviation observations are not for flight planning. Air quality data is preliminary. Weather by PreteWorks is not affiliated with or endorsed by NOAA or the National Weather Service.

The app and this website are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, timeliness, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, PRETE9 LLC is not liable for any loss, injury, or damage arising from the use of, or reliance on, the app, its notifications, or this website.
